Summer Bay, Home & Away – Sydney – Travelling with Kids

On one of our trips to Sydney last year, we had a free day to fill in and thought we would go for a drive to Palm Beach which is where Home & Away is filmed (fictitiously named Summer Bay) on the northern beaches of Sydney. If you don’t have enough time to do your own Home and Away Tour independently, there’s plenty of other things to do in Sydney if you only have a short period of time. (more…)

The Cinderella Premiere – Sydney State Theatre – Family Travel Blog – Traveling with Kids

Last weekend Keira and I flew up to Sydney to visit her friend Bella. We do this regularly as Bella is Keira’s best friend from when we lived in Sydney, kinda strange as they’re only 7 but they are like 2 old women and love each others company like no other. Helps that I kinda like Bella’s mum Venessa. (more…)

My review – Drummoyne Serviced Apartment, Sydney – Affordable accommodation

Over the Australia Day long weekend, we took a family trip to Sydney to visit friends we made when we lived up there. It’s been over 2 years since we returned home to Melbourne and we thought it would be nice for the kids to go back to Sydney and see the old house and school and especially friends. Craig and I also went on a hot air balloon ride with Balloons Aloft. Choosing where to stay in Sydney is always a big task! (more…)

Australia Day Weekend in Sydney – Family Travel Blog – Travelling With Kids

We thought it was about time we returned to Sydney as a family to visit some friends that we met while we were living there from 2010 – 2012. We made some wonderful friends while we were there and many have come to Melbourne to visit us. We love to see them and show them around our wonderful home town but we are especially excited to be returning as a family to check out all the old haunts! I have been back a couple of times to visit Keira’s friend Bella but this time we will visit friends of Lanni’s and our lovely neighbours in Brooks Circuit.

24 Hours in Sydney with a 7 Year Old

Over the weekend Keira & I had a quick snappy visit to Sydney to visit Keira’s friend Bella. We flew in at 8.20pm and flew out next day at 5.40pm. We departed from Melbourne’s second airport, Avalon. Avalon Airport is approximately 40mins from the CBD towards Geelong. The airport services between 4-5 flights a day but only runs between Melbourne and Sydney. I am unsure why the airport only services Sydney. We spent the last day at Darling Harbour experiencing the kids friendly activities.  (more…)
