The Skycab has been rated Langkawi’s top tourist attraction on the island and I can see why, the views from the viewing platform are amazing and certainly worth the 30 minute ride in the SkyCab to the top. Review – Aonang Cliff Beach Resort & Spa

When travelling I always like to go to at least one place I haven’t been before. For the Thailand leg of the trip it was Aonang, located about 45 mins drive from Krabi Airport. Krabi is the gateway to Thailand’s southern islands that aren’t accessible by air.  Aonang is a great place to explore Railay Beach and Koh Phi Phi or even go snorkelling on Koh Rok Island. You can also get a boat transfer from Aonang to Phuket if you wanted to visit both.  While in Aonang we stayed at the Aonang Cliff Beach resort and Spa. (more…)

Over the last couple of years we have visited Malaysia more than once a year. It’s our stop over generally on the way to somewhere else. We often have a couple of days in Kuala Lumpur before flying on or on our way home. We often talk about exploring Malaysia a little more but it seems to always get overlooked, well not this time! We decided to explore Langkawi and we chose to stay at the Meritus Pelangi Resort and Spa. (more…)

Review – Crown Lanta Resort & Spa – Travelling with Kids, Family Travel Blog

The Thai island of Koh Lanta holds a very special place in both mine and Craig’s hearts, as it was the relaxing leg our our honeymoon nearly 14 years ago, we went there after spending 3 weeks touring Vietnam from South to North. We were looking forward to a nice relaxing beach break and that’s exactly what we got. A beautiful, quiet island that was way behind other more touristy islands in Thailand particularly as it was only accessible by boat. We already knew where to stay in Koh Lanta, Crown Lanta ticks all our boxes. (more…)

Babysitting options in Siem Reap – Travelling with Kids – Family Travel Blog

We’ve all heard the term ‘templed out’ generally a topic of conversation for those travelling to Siem Reap with kids. I’ve had a couple of people ask me if I made any arrangements for babysitting options in Siem Reap. Fortunately I didn’t have any issues and the kids enjoyed the temples although we were able to space it out as we were staying in town  for 7 days. (more…)

Visiting Batu Caves on your own – Travelling with Kids – Family Travel Blog

A Batu Caves tour is a popular tourist attraction for those visiting Kuala Lumpur. It’s a Hindu temple located on the outskirts of KL in Selangor. The Batu Caves are a series of caves and temples naturally entrenched in a limestone hill, the entrance to the main cave is 100 metres above the ground. Batu Caves steps are nearly as famous as the temples itself, 272 concrete steps which were originally built out of timber in 1920. Before that it was every man for himself with a number of different tracks up to the entrance. (more…)
