Top things to do on Phillip Island with Kids – Family Travel Blog

Keira and I regularly go to Sydney to visit her best friend Bella who she met when we were living up there. This time we had the pleasure of having Bella and her family here in Melbourne for the Australia Day long weekend. As we had a four day break we decided to head off some where nice for the weekend – Phillip Island was the choice. Having been there a few times before, I knew there is plenty of things to do in Phillip Island with kids. (more…)

Summer Bay, Home & Away – Sydney – Travelling with Kids

On one of our trips to Sydney last year, we had a free day to fill in and thought we would go for a drive to Palm Beach which is where Home & Away is filmed (fictitiously named Summer Bay) on the northern beaches of Sydney. If you don’t have enough time to do your own Home and Away Tour independently, there’s plenty of other things to do in Sydney if you only have a short period of time. (more…)

Review – Porepunkah Bridge Caravan Park, Porepunkah, Victoria

For the second time in 12 weeks, we decided to park our camper trailer at Porepunkah, approximately 6kms from Bright in the Victorian high country. Bright is one of my favourite towns in Victoria as its such a pretty place, this time of year though its very busy. Porepunkah is my favourite place to go camping near Bright, just far enough away from the craziness but easy to still get in to town.  (more…)

How did I miss the Bay of Fires? – Family Travel Blog – Travelling with Kids

I wasn’t going to write this post as there’s a chance its going to make me look pretty silly but decided that its good to show that travelling with kids is not always perfect and that the best made plans don’t always go as planned! Bay of Fires Tasmania was to be the highlight of the trip…. (more…)

My Review – Beauty Point Riviera Hotel, Beauty Point – Travelling with Kids

For our last night in Tassie I decided we needed a change of scenery and it was perfect timing considering I wasn’t too happy with the Tamar Valley Resort. I had read a review about the Beauty Point Riviera Hotel and as I had planned to visit Seahorse World and Platypus House, it was the perfect place for the night. Beauty Point Tasmania is a sleepy little seaside town, much like the Great ocean Road towns use to be like.  (more…)

Platypus House, Beauty Point, Tasmania – Travelling with Kids

Located right next to Seahorse World in Beauty Point, Tasmania is Platypus House. Its similar in size to Seahorse World and takes approximately the same amount of time to visit. Expect to spend no more than one hour, the tour is 30-40 mins and then allow a few minutes for the souvenir shop. (more…)

My review of Tamar Valley Resort – Grindelwald, Tasmania

Grindelwald Tasmania is a small village about 15 minutes drive from Launceston or approx 17kms. The village is a replica of a small Swiss village. The homes look like what you would expect in Switzerland. The actual resort itself is also based on a Swiss village along with the little shopping chalets and restaurant. We were booked to stay there for 3 nights. (more…)
