Touring the Whitsunday with Ocean Rafting – Family Travel Blog – Travelling with kids

On the March Labour Day long weekend, Craig and I took the kids for a short 4 day break to Airlie Beach. There are so many things to do at Airlie Beach but I was certain of one, I wanted to take the kids to Whitehaven Beach. Nearly 30 years ago I promised someone  very special who has since passed away that I would get there one day and now I have done it with my family. It was very special and more than just a tick off my bucket list. (more…)

Nomad’s Airlie Beach Backpackers – Family Travel Blog – Travelling with Kids

We recently spent 3 days at Airlie Beach in Tropical North Queensland, gateway to the Whitsundays. On this occasion we didn’t have to take the kids out of school because they have curriculum days on the Thursday and Friday before our Labour Day long weekend. While I can imagine its difficult for some, its actually pretty good for me! To save some money we decided to stay at Nomads Airlie Beach, its in a great location and very economical price wise.  (more…)

My review – Drummoyne Serviced Apartment, Sydney – Affordable accommodation

Over the Australia Day long weekend, we took a family trip to Sydney to visit friends we made when we lived up there. It’s been over 2 years since we returned home to Melbourne and we thought it would be nice for the kids to go back to Sydney and see the old house and school and especially friends. Craig and I also went on a hot air balloon ride with Balloons Aloft. Choosing where to stay in Sydney is always a big task! (more…)

Australian Open 2016 – Opening Night

Last year I decided I needed a new tennis buddy, Craig isn’t really interested unless they’re corporate tickets and most of my friends aren’t that into tennis to spend their money on going. So I made the decision last year to take Alannah for the first time when she was only 9 years old. She loved it and wanted to return this year. Awesome, new tennis buddy for mum! Australian Open Melbourne is one of the worlds best run world sporting events and you can really see why. (more…)
