Over the weekend Keira & I had a quick snappy visit to Sydney to visit Keira’s friend Bella. We flew in at 8.20pm and flew out next day at 5.40pm. We departed from Melbourne’s second airport, Avalon. Avalon Airport is approximately 40mins from the CBD towards Geelong. The airport services between 4-5 flights a day but only runs between Melbourne and Sydney. I am unsure why the airport only services Sydney. We spent the last day at Darling Harbour experiencing the kids friendly activities. (more…)
Over the June long weekend, I was lucky enough to snag my brothers holiday house at Gough’s Bay. Gough’s Bay…… I can hear you all saying. Gough’s Bay is a lovely little town on Lake Eildon about 20 mins from Mansfield. Why is it the perfect place, because it has the best of both worlds! In summer you have the lake, great for boats, water ski’s, skiing, swimming, fishing & anything else you can think of. Then during winter its 40 mins drive to the nearest snow fields, Mount Buller.
We had our last buffet breakfast in our usual table looking out to the lagoon & a quick swim in the lagoon pool before packing & heading back to the airport.…
This morning we headed into Port Douglas to buy some gifts for the kids and my mum & my sister for looking after the kids whilst we were gone. We…
We had booked a trip to the outer reef with Quiksilver Reef Cruises. I was warned to take seasick tablets as the ride out could be a little rough. I heeded that advice, many didn’t & paid the price. I wondered when we left the dock, why the cruise staff were standing around with airline sick bags, I soon found out!! Luckily not for us!! It was pretty choppy & I was glad to get out to the reef. It takes approximately 1.5hrs to get out to the outer reef.

In November 2013, Craig & I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with 5 childfree days in Port Douglas, Queensland. Neither of Craig or myself had been to North Queensland before so we were both looking forward to a new adventure. (more…)
In July 2013, our family spent a long weekend at Phillip Island. I bought a 2 night/3 days package off Scoopon. Scoopon offers daily deals from various companies offering food, drink, travel & shopping specials. On this occasion the deal was for a 3 bedroom villa at the Ramada Resort for a maximum of 6 people. I paid $330 for the whole package that included a complimentary bottle of wine & various discounts for sightseeing attractions in the area.
On the March long weekend we decided that we hadn’t been up to the Murray River for a while. The Murray River divides 2 Australian States, Victoria & New South Wales. Its a very popular holiday spot for Melbournians & Victorians alike. (more…)
