Visiting Angkor Wat has always been at the top of my bucket list, in particular an Angkor Wat sunrise! I just hadn’t thought that it would be a suitable place for little kids. My kids are a little older now at 11, 9 and 7 so we decided that now would be a good time. Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples are located close to Siem Reap in Cambodia. (more…)
When I made the decision to go to Cambodia, I had a good 8 months to start researching what we would do and how we would go about it. I have always wanted to visit the temples around Siem Reap but didn’t know how to organise it for a family of 5. I started by researching other travel blogs, for the most up to date information. Flight of the Gibbon (now known as Angkor Zipline) is the only zip lining Siem Reap. It is located within the Angkor Archeological Park, the home of 1000 year old ruins of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and many other famous temples. (more…)
The Night Safari opened in Singapore in 1994 and was the first zoo to showcase nocturnal animals and is one of the most popular things to do in Singapore at night. The park is divided into seven geological regions that you can explore via four walking trails. If you are travelling with kids or those not up to walking the tracks there is also a tram ride that drives around all the exhibits and provides a live commentary as you go. (more…)
The River Safari Singapore officially opened in February 2014 and is just a minute walk from the entrance of the Singapore Zoo. The park is a fresh water river themed wildlife park, with dedicated zones that highlight famous waterways from around the world. Singapore Zoo is world renowned for its spacious, open air enclosures and I have to admit its by far the best zoo I have visited. Depending on what list your reading, you will always find Singapore Zoo somewhere in the top 10 zoo’s in the world. A zoo’s a zoo you might be thinking but it really isn’t. (more…)
Gardens by the Bay is a must see on any visit to Singapore and was one of the attractions that made it onto our short list of things to do during our recent visit. It’s been 13 years since Craig and I first visited Singapore, there was no Marina Bay back then and Sentosa Island was nothing like it is now. This man made tourist mecca really is worth a visit even if you’re only on a stopover. (more…)
On our recent trip to Singapore we were spoilt for choice for things to do with the kids. We were only there for a few days so we to narrow it down and wouldn’t be able to do everything. On our recent trip to Singapore we decided to visit Legoland Malaysia just across the border in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre which is located just off Orchard Rd in central Singapore and it took us approximately one hour (give or take) to get there. Getting to Legoland Malaysia from Singapore can be a bit tricky, hope this post helps you make your decision easier. (more…)
