Last weekend I surprised Craig with a long weekend at Uluru for his birthday. I have always wanted to go to the Red Centre and do it in style, meaning without the kids! Things in the Red Centre are pretty expensive due to them having the monopoly, there are ways to save but that’s for another post later this week!

For our 9th wedding anniversary, I surprised Craig with a Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. I booked us in for a twilight climb. It was $213 per person which sounds kind of expensive but all the money goes towards the upkeep of the bridge. Read More

Over the weekend Keira & I had a quick snappy visit to Sydney to visit Keira’s friend Bella. We flew in at 8.20pm and flew out next day at 5.40pm. We departed from Melbourne’s second airport, Avalon. Avalon Airport is approximately 40mins from the CBD towards Geelong. The airport services between 4-5 flights a day but only runs between Melbourne and Sydney. I am unsure why the airport only services Sydney. We spent the last day at Darling Harbour experiencing the kids friendly activities.  Read More

Over the June long weekend, I was lucky enough to snag my brothers holiday house at Gough’s Bay. Gough’s Bay…… I can hear you all saying.   Gough’s Bay is a lovely little town on Lake Eildon about 20 mins from Mansfield. Why is it the perfect place, because it has the best of both worlds! In summer you have the lake, great for boats, water ski’s, skiing, swimming, fishing & anything else you can think of.  Then during winter its 40 mins drive to the nearest snow fields, Mount Buller.

We had our last buffet breakfast in our usual table looking out to the lagoon & a quick swim in the lagoon pool before packing & heading back to the airport.

It was a wonderful experience & I just loved the Great Barrier Reef, I would recommend everyone to go up there at least once in their life’s. When flying back home to Melbourne, the pilot took off from Cairns airport & went straight out over the Great Barrier Reef & followed it down the coast for a good half hour. I had my nose stuck to the window the whole time & managed to snap a couple of good photos.

View from the plane, awesome.

Like the other trip I went on without the kids, all I could think was how much the kids would have loved it there! Maybe next time we will take them with us!

Until next time, keep traveling.
