Sunday brunch in Bali is fast becoming one of the most popular dining experiences on the island. Locals, expats and tourists are embracing this modern way of catching up over delicious food. Whether you brunch at a hotel, restaurant or bar it’s certainly a rewarding way to end the week. Prego Restaurant at The Westin Nusa Dua offers a family orientated Sunday brunch that’s a feast of fun.

Westin kids club staff are on hand runing a range of fun activities for the little ones. This means Mum and Dad can sit back and relax. The restaurant is colourful with balloons on every table and photos of previous brunch guests cover the walls. Their smiles are an indication of how much you’ll enjoy yourselves. Parents are welcomed to Prego with a glass of Prosecco. An entertaining magician welcomes kids with magic tricks. Pipo the squirrel also does the rounds at Prego posing for photos. There’s such a fun and upbeat atmosphere here, especially evident when all the restaurant staff break into a choreographed dance routine.
Delighting guests tastebuds with Italian dishes Prego’s family Sunday brunch offers a self serve antipasti section, pizza, pasta, roasted meats and salads. I was so happy when I found the cheese wall! A lot of effort has gone into the presentation and choices of foods to ensure the adults feel just as special as the kids. I love how kids can tuck into their very own pizza while the parents can enjoy dishes a little more ‘grown up’ such as smoked salmon and fresh crab. The dessert bar was a child’s candy dream! It had everything from ice cream, cakes and even cotton candy.
I found Prego’s family Sunday brunch exceptionally well priced for what is offered. Adults pay 360,000IDR ++ (approximately AUD43.00) and for every paying adult one child eats free. Extra children are charged at half the adult cost. The price includes unlimited soft drink and iced tea but if you’re after something a little stronger drink packages are available. I paid 250,000IDR++ for free flow wine for the duration of the brunch. If your not staying at The Westin the cost also includes use of the resorts amazing swimming pool for the rest of the day.
Although I dined at Prego on my own I certainly wasn’t lonely. The vibe was fun and inclusive. Not only is it terrific value for such quality food it’s an opportunity to be part of a community where your kids can play with other holiday makers and meet new friends.
