Inle Lake was a surprising highlight on our visit to Myanmar. I had been to Ton Le Sap near Siem Reap in Cambodia and thought it would be similar at that. However there is more to Inle Lake than the obvious long boat tour, here’s my list of things to do on Inle Lake with kids.
Visiting the Bagan temples with kids was the highlight of our trip to Myanmar. I had seen many photos of Bagan and while I knew what to expect, I didn’t expect Bagan to take my breath away. It gave me the same tingles as when I first sighted Angkor Wat.
I have to admit, Mandalay wasn’t our favourite place to visit in Myanmar. Mandalay city is quite industrial and lacks a lot of character compared to Yangon. There isn’t a huge amount of family friendly activities however our list of things to do in Mandalay with kids will make your trip a little easier.

Myanmar is changing rapidly with all the western influence creeping in since its opened up in 1992 and now no longer under military rule. We recently stayed at the Sedona Hotel Yangon, a perfect little oasis located across from Inya Lake away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Yangon.
